Job Description

The Project provides an integrated, user friendly, automated system to manage the increasing complexity of the public assistance and employment programs, and to achieve the outcomes required by welfare reform. Included are Project Management, Design, Development, Testing, Infrastructure Build, Implementation and Maintenance services.

The Project has two phases: the first is the Development and Implementation phase which was from March 2001 to October 2004, and the second is the Maintenance and Operations phase, which is a ten year phase beginning in November 2004. The M&O Phase includes production operations support of an online application which includes over 400 pages with 7000 users, and a batch application with over 900 jobs and 50 key interfaces. Additionally, the M&O phase supports planned monthly enhancements as well as 1-3 priority builds per month as required.

The Systems Operations Analyst (SOA) will be responsible for application builds for Production, System Test and Training environments. The SOA will be responsible for maintenance and operations of training environments and ensuring appropriate data sets are loaded. The SOA will also be responsible for maintenance of monitoring applications like Wily Introscope and HPM. The SOA will update existing Wily dashboards when required and create new ones. The SOA will run HPM performance reports and write new queries for the HPM database when there is a need to gather performance statistics. The SOA will also serve as a backup for our System Adminstrator and Imaging Technician. The SOA will work closely with the Senior and other Systems Operations Analysts and the EDS Unix Team.

Responsibilities:

• Builds and deploys Monthly releases of the project application to Production and weekly releases to System Test environments
• Maintains and builds training environments.
• Maintains Wily Introscope configuration and HPM performance reports.
• Assist other Analyst in maintaining Imaging systems.
• Produce proper documentation of programs.
• Creates test data to validate certain test conditions
• Creates expected results for application actions
• Executes detailed test scenarios
• Documents actual results of testing steps
• Reports discrepancies between actual and expected results
• Assists in problem resolution
• Re-test conditions where application fixes have been made

REQUIREMENTS
1+ years overall IT or Unix system administration experience
• Solid understanding of Web technologies
• Experience with Version Control tools

Desired Technical Skills

• Strong skills in administration of the Unix Operating System (preferably Solaris)
• Experience with Weblogic application server
• Working knowledge of Java and SQL
• Knowledge of Ant and experience with builds
