Role: The role of the eContent Acquisition Manager is to build deep publisher relationships to understand and serve their digital content distribution needs. This position will report to the Director of eContent Acquisiton and focus primarily on eBook/digital content acquisition.I.eContent AcquisitionA.Meet with Publishers and eContent providers to present Follett's eBook distribution, Digital Classroom, Digital enablement solutions modelsB.Work on projects designed to identify desired products, determine the rights holders, and develop a product acquisition strategyC.This individual will, at the Directors discretion, will be given responsibility for a segment of the publisher/customer base to develop as agreed
II.TravelThis position will be expected to travel to key national trade shows (ALA, BEA, etc.), industry events/seminars, as well as make periodic company visits.III.Integrated Marketing CommunicationsIn cooperation with the Director. this individual will be responsible for developing new and improved communications tools and processes designed to improve customer bonding resulting in new business growth with our publishing partners. 'We want to get to the point that whenever a publisher thinks of doing anything digital they think of Follett'! Continue to refine and disseminate the FDR Story and the 'One Follett' message.

Communications 'Touch Points'As FDR's Marketing Communications processes evolve, this position will be expected to contribute in the following area:1.Direct Contact ' Face to face publisher meetings2.Direct Contact - Phone3.E-Mail Contact4.Trade Shows5.Direct Mail6.Web Site7.Print Advertising
IV.Market Intelligence
The individual in this position will:A.Keep informed as to the latest trends and issues facing publishers and distributors of eBooks and digital content.B.Research, and develop a thorough knowledge of the latest eBook and digital content products and services
C.Periodically research and report on topics ' relevant to FDR's mission
V.PublisherServices: eEnablement & Digital Content Distribution Solutions
A.This Position will play an active role in communicating with publishers to better understand their wider digital distribution needs and to explore with the FDR team ways in which FDR might be able to deliver digital solutions
B.This position will contribute to the development and presentation of digital solution services to our publishing partners.
REQUIREMENTS
The Ideal candidate for this position will have 10+ years Sales and or Marketing experience; will have worked in the book publishing industry for 3 or more of those years, and have a working knowledge of the education or library markets.
Other requirements include: Excellent communications skills, strong working knowledge of all Microsoft Office products as well as a basic customer contact database program like Access, Lotus Notes, Goldmine, etc... Must be a self starter and a creative thinker.
Familiarity with digital publishing and comfort with technology a must.
