Technical Sales Representative- Dallas, TX

Job Summary A Technical Sales Representative is key sales position that reports directly to a Regional Sales Manager. A Technical Sales Representative effectively interfaces regularly with all levels of Henkel and customer organizations requiring strong communication skills. This position places emphasis upon strong interpersonal skills; analytical thinking; initiative; team building; product and process knowledge; analytical thinking; attention to detail; persistence; and a high tolerance for uncertainty. The Aerospace Group’s business strategy is based on a value added, lowest total cost supplier approach to the market. Technical Sales Representatives are responsible for developing a preferred supplier at focus accounts in order to meet this objective.

Principal Accountabilities

1)Successfully manage assigned territory resulting in year-on-year growth in sales and profitability.
2)Develop long-term customer agreements, preferred supplier status, and solid client relationships.
3)Customer face time is expected to be a minimum of 65% of the nominal 265-day work year.
4)Formulation and execution of a regularly updated written territory strategy with input and guidance from Manager. In order to achieve this, the incumbent must continuously assess the state of the market, including the need for new technologies, changes in market direction, our competitors intentions, Henkel's strengths and weaknesses and the validity of our assumptions, including market size, growth projections, customer needs, and our share of the market.
5)Responsible for timely and accurate administrative tasks supporting the territory strategy including qualification and implementation of products to customer requirements, forecast updates, maintenance of the customer and global market database, coordination of specification review, follow up of the results of samples delivered to customer, preparation of Laboratory Work Request’s, preparation of monthly reports, and trouble shooting.
6)Timely and effective communication about the territory strategy execution to members of management, customers, other Henkel personnel, and any involved outside third parties. This communication includes written monthly and customer visits reports, regularly scheduled and ad hoc meetings, voice mail, letters and memos.
7)Focus on increasing professional selling skills to keep pace with the practical daily business use of business software and communication equipment and to acquire and maintain and in depth knowledge of Henkel aerospace products and their application in customer processes.
8)Effectively manage territory expenses and company property.

•Solid understanding of the aerospace industry and Henkel products
•Meet the sales forecast, agreed to by management, within the authorized territory expense budget and policies of Henkel
•Exhibit creative and positive problem solving skills
•Demonstrate good negotiation and “solution” based sales skills
•Must maintain high level of energy and professionalism on the job
•Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, management, and cross-functional teams and contacts
•Demonstrate effective communication skills with coworkers, management and customers
•Must be able to maintain confidentiality as to company's areas of interest and technologiesJob Requirements
Education & Professional Requirements

•Bachelors of Science in a technical or business discipline
•At its sole discretion management may consider equivalent experience in lieu of a degree
•2+ years of experience within Henkel, preferably within the aerospace group, or 5 years relevant business experience in aerospace or similar industry
•Up-to-date computer skills including business typing skills, strong literacy in Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office Excel, Word and Power Point, contact management software, and Lotus Notes.
•Good presentation and relationship-building skills


Physical Requirements

•Frequently sit, view a computer screen, and type on a keyboard for extended periods of times.
•Verbally communicate one-on-one and in front of groups.
•Occasionally may be required to reach, squat, bend and lift up to 20 lbs.

•Regular travel within the United States
•Requires a valid drivers license
•May require passing additional security screening based on customer requirements
