Technical Sales Engineer - Washington, DC

The Technical Sales Engineer develops, designs, and assists in the sale of complex voice and/or data networks. This individual will have a thorough understanding of voice and/or data networking technologies, along with sales experience and the ability to interact with all levels of customer management. Maintains assigned accounts and develops new leads within pre-established parameters. Assesses customer needs and proposes solutions. Responds to inquiries regarding company offerings, policies, etc. Works under general supervision. Troubleshoots basic and complex problems and recommends a course of action. May work on various tasks required for project completion. Under general supervision, uses judgment within defined practices and procedures. This position is a definite contributor towards team goals. May identify issues and recommend solutions on team projects.

Responsibilities
Searching for new clients that could benefit from company products or services, and maximizing customer potential in designated regions
Traveling to visit potential clients
Establishing new and maintaining existing long-term relationships with customers
Managing and interpreting customer requirements
Calculating client quotes
Negotiating tender and contract terms, to meet both client and company needs
Negotiating and closing sales by agreeing terms and conditions
Offering after-sales support services
Administering client accounts
Analyzing costs and sales
Preparing reports for management
Meeting regular sales targets
Recording and maintaining client contact data
Coordinating sales projects
Supporting marketing activities by attending trade shows, conferences, and other marketing events
Performing technical presentations
Providing pre-sales technical assistance and product education
Helping in the design of custom-made products
Providing training and producing support material for other members of the sales team
REQUIREMENTS
At least 5 years technical sales engineering experience, specifically in a telecom environment
3 Positions Available: Position 1: Must have Wireless Industry Knowledge and Transport Services. Position 2: Must have DOD Security Clearance, Transport services, Fiber, and IP. Position 3: Knowledge of content providers (Google, Yahoo, etc.) Must know Video (not streaming or photo)
Customer Facing experience is required
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Ability to travel up to 20%
