The Technical Design Architect will perform Technology and Architecture duties such as, feasibility, design, review, and lifecycle of the company’s products. You will also support Enterprise Architecture Solutions Group (EASG) activities such as consulting, design, standardisation, governance to support various company initiatives. 1. Perform technology architecture duties such as, design, review and governance on large, complex, distributed application and messaging systems. 2. Work with vendors, partners, suppliers to evaluate, design and review various implementation scenarios of ?out of the box? as well as custom built large, distributed, enterprise applications. 3. Collaborate with various design teams such as, application, infrastructure, messaging to ensure an end-to-end working enterprise architecture. 4. Provide guidance and design authority on various aspects such as tool, technology, standards and processes to support large, distributed enterprise systems. 5. Enable consistent, optimised integration of assets, resources and design artefacts of technology and architecture. 6. Establish the technical and architectural feasibility of business initiatives. 7. Facilitate defining and establishing standards and best practices for Technology and Architecture. 8. Contribute towards the infrastructure aspects of the company’s Enterprise Architecture Framework. 9. Contribute towards the company’s Architecture and Technology Governance mechanism. 10. Offer consulting services to business units in the product’s design and development phase (application and messaging). Education and training Bachelor’s degree Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or other scientific or technical discipline directly related to the lab Knowledge and skills Must: Proven track record in leading the analysis, design and development of large, complex, high performance, and scalable enterprise applications. Must: Extensive knowledge and experience of designing, developing and implementing large, distributed, enterprise application system using multiple technologies including (but not limited to): J2EE, XML, Web Services Technologies, PL/SQL, C/C++, Oracle, Websphere, JBOSS Must: Extensive knowledge and experience of designing, developing and implementing large, distributed, enterprise messaging system using multiple technologies including (but not limited to): XML, EDIFACT, Web Services Technologies, Tuxedo, IBM MQ Nice to have: Prior experience of acting as a design authority to provide guidance and governance regarding tools, technology, standards and processes on large programmes. Nice to have: Knowledge and experience in implementing Architecture Frameworks such as Zachman, Togaf will be advantageous for this profile. Ability to exert considerable influence on stakeholders and exhibit willingness to compromise. Proficiency with design and development methodologies and processes. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and excellent presentation skills. Self Starter and ability to work in a distributed environment. Experience 5 to 7 years of management experience in planning, evaluating, directing information processing or application development organizations, out of which at least 2-4 years of experience in enterprise architecture, systems integration, package implementation, and/or interactive design, and Architecture experience
