TECHNICAL WRITER

Business Initiatives Director:
This position will be responsible for helping lead Deep Dive Assessments on strategic initiatives for the corporation. These assessments are expected to provide added control of initiative delivery, ensuring consistent adoption of corporate practice and process resulting in standardization, greater efficiency and consistent quality of completed initiatives. Scope includes assignment of several initiatives annually and assessment of initiatives associated with large budgets (exceeds $400M), strategic infrastructure change, or customer facing applications.

This position is accountable to the Sr. Director who will be leading the independent assessment performance of critical programs across Freddie Mac. This position will be responsible for helping coordinate an assessment team to methodically conduct deep dive assessments to determine progress against business and technical objectives. These deep dives will be conducted several times during the initiative life cycle. This position is responsible for defining recommendations to bring programs, which are not on-plan, back on track. This position is responsible
for identifying risk associated with material findings and making recommendations for improvement.

Deep Dive Assessments review all dimensions of initiative delivery, including:
- Staffing, leadership, training, deployment
- Project planning, monitoring, measurement
- Organization make up and integration
- Risk identification and mitigation
- Requirements development and management
- Product integration, verification and validation
- Process and product quality assurance
- Decision analysis and resolution

This position ensures discipline and adherence to corporate processes, practices and policies associated with initiatives increasing return on
investment by providing focus on longer-term quality delivery. Provides independent assessment of program and initiative performance
toward objectives. The assessments are designed to be collaborative, value add input to the project teams. In the case of troubled projects,
recovery plans are recommended with a separate team brought in to execute.
REQUIREMENTS
Skill set:

1) Ten years experience in project management, including staff management, change management and strategic planning
2) Demonstrated understanding of information systems for business use, including knowledge of potential infrastructure implications
3) Excellent communication skills - Should be able to effectively share the best practices and improvement recommendations to project teams.
4) Prior Mortgage, GSE or Financial Services industry experience
5) Experience in large initiatives and programs is desirable
6) Experience in control process management
