Supermarket Regional Sales Manager/Western Division

Responsible for developing and building sales in assigned accounts; representing the company in a professional manner; soliciting new business; coordinating efforts towards account expansion or new accounts; and facilitating the support of company-wide objectives in the marketplace. Will manage and supervise multiple territory managers.

Calls on assigned accounts; frequency determined by sales volume or growth potential. Solicits new business and conducts appropriate follow up. If responsible for a corporate account call, must conduct regular business reviews and facilitate quarterly meetings.

• Develops and maintains a positive working relationship with the customer. Works cooperatively with UNFI co-workers to create “team” effort.
• Work with Key Account Managers developing sales plans, account compliance with current agreements, new item presentations, and annual sales growth targets.
•Supervise in-house staff ensuring the smooth operation of the day to day business.
•Facilitates resolution between internal UNFI departments and retail outlets for problems with product, deliveries, customer service, credits, or other service issues.
•Submits Quarterly analysis on time for bonus allocations. Meets goals for territory growth and sales to expenses ratio.
•Assists with Trade Shows as directed by the Western Region Director of Sales.
•Arranges meetings at trade shows with potential new accounts. Meets with key accounts to enhance the company’s image and gather information about new products, industry trends, and competitor activity.
•Attends company sponsored sales meetings, trainings, and events required to expand knowledge of products and industry.
•Behaves in a professional manner at all times while representing UNFI. Communicates negative customer interactions to management.
•Performs other tasks as requested by the WR Director of Sales
REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must have at least 5 years managerial experience.
Candidate must be located or willing to relocate to Washington (Seattle/Auburn area)
Excellent communication, time management, and prioritization skills.

Proven ability with the following:
• Execute good business decisions.
•Ability to work with all other departments in the company for service resolution in the best interest of the customer and UNFI.
•Comprehend and execute strategic business objectives, including meeting company performance goals.
•Write proposals and agreements incorporating aggressive business strategies for specific customers.
•Calculate long-term gains versus short-term outlay.
•Create company presentations for potential new chain customers, sales meetings, and executive management.
•Overnight travel required

Must have the creative abilities and foresight to plan and execute new business strategies that increase UNFI’s top line growth and bottom line profitability.
Proficient in Microsoft programs of excel, word, and PowerPoint.
