Senior Real Estate Development Manager
DBSI Discovery Real Estate Services is looking for a Development Manager to provide direction of the acquisition, leasing and development of retail and office projects in various regions of the U.S.This is an exciting opportunity to join a Boise based business that is doing development nationwide.Responsibilities include:Effectively manage multiple retail development projects by:
•Handling day to day development issues
•Managing all marketing and leasing efforts
•Perform financial analysis
•Managing and coordinating multiple development projects.
•Securing the entitlements necessary for obtaining required land use and construction permits.
•Developing knowledge of the land use regulations and proposed regulatory changes in the counties and states where the company owns property.
•Establishing good working relationships within local/regional development communities and city/county/state staff.•Managing and directing outside service providers to insure a timely, cost effective and “best practice” service.
•Establishing respect of and a close working relationship with key vendors and partners.
•Assisting in development of strategy for environmental reviews (SEPA, EIS) required for future projects.
•Assisting the land acquisition team with evaluating properties for potential uses, development or sale.Ensure timely completion of projects by:
•Ensuring performance is in accordance with scope, schedule and budget.•Preparing and maintaining schedules for delivery of projects that can be relied on by other company personnel.
•Providing financial reviews, updates and accounting forecasts for development projects.
•Understand the company risk profile along with legal and tax considerations relative to each project.
REQUIREMENTS
Skills, Education and Experience:
•Bachelor’s degree in construction and/or facilities management.•Minimum of 7 years experience in retail development, leasing, and project management.
•Demonstrated leadership, managerial, administrative and problem solving abilities.
•Experience managing multiple projects in various stages of development and construction.
•Strong knowledge of project budgeting and understanding of job cost systems.
•Strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
