Senior Project Manager/Business Analyst

Ascendix Technologies, located in Dallas, Texas, is a leader in the integrated software solutions space. We have been successfully growing for over ten years. Our professional services department compliments the front office products that we sell by providing business process re-engineering/strategy consulting, customization development and on-going support and training.
STATUS/COMPENSATION
Full time; salary plus profit sharing plan.
SUMMARY
As a Project Manager, this person is the primary interface with the client acting as the liaison between client contacts and project team within Ascendix managing the deliverables for a project in terms of timeliness and adherence to budget.
As a Business Analyst, this person is integral in translating the business needs of the client into a design specification for the development team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Project Manager Duties: Must be proficient with managing both large and small scale projects in terms of identifying and delineating activities, assigning activities, and keeping resources accountable for delivering on activities in stated timeframe. In addition, it is the Project Manager's responsibility to maintain the budget (both financial and time) during a project minimizing cost overruns and delayed delivery timelines. The Project Manager must be able to feel the pain and needs of the client and to manage their expectations to ensure a successful delivery of the project within that expectation. It must be noted that this position assumes the ability to manage multiple projects at once.
Business Analyst Duties: Must be able to listen carefully to the client and articulate their wants/needs/desires into a meaningful specification document to present to the development team who will actually be performing the work. You are in essence a translator from layman business terms to technical documentation. All along, there must be sound reasoning being applied to all that is absorbed from the client so as to identify reasonability factors to delivering the desired solution. Business process writing skills are crucial so that you can speak with the business contact and turn that conversation around to the solution architect who needs requirement details to perform his or her job.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
As Project Manager, this person will have temporary custody of all resources allocated to the project, all of which report directly to the project manager who has accountability to the client for a successful installation.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Exposure to management of CRM applications/projects is beneficial.
MANAGEMENT/LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to apply and execute Ascendix methodology throughout a full project life-cycle. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, business requirements and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Ability to gather requirements in a collaborative group environment is mandatory.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

None required PMP designation beneficial.
