Senior Category Manager, Hispanic

Primary Responsibility for the Senior Category Manager, Hispanic:
Provide leadership and direction on all aspects of assigned category, including promotional development, inventory replenishment activities, internal income, departmental expenses, program and customer development and vendor management to ensure service level, sales and profitability goals are achieved.

Essential Functions for the Senior Category Manager, Hispanic:
Develop annual marketing plan for assigned category including sourcing the items, developing planograms, and presenting the strategy to the senior leadership. Execute category business plan and strategies.Conduct assortment analysis to formulate recommendations for new/discontinued item decisions. Hold overall responsibility for new item set-up and speed-to-shelf initiative.Provide sales and marketing support through effective item/vendor mix management, sales and merchandising meeting participation, promotion management and customer relationsCreate and maintain productive vendor relationships working in conjunction with vendor managers.Execute overall retail pricing strategy to achieve pricing targets and identify core impressionable items for special pricing. Work closely with the national pricing department.Prepare two (2) business plans annually to present to leadership.Communicate with the advertising department to execute the production of advertising and marketing materials, when required.Evaluate detailed product sales history listing on a regular basis and develop plans for problem inventory reduction.Establish and carry out overall promotional strategies, including monthly and seasonal promotional programs that will enhance market exposure, sales and market share of assigned product category.Coordinate programs with Regional Vice President of Sales, National Account Managers and Regional Account Managers.Manage inventory levels and turns, SKU count, and category trends.Manage product recalls.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements for the Senior Category Manager, Hispanic:
A minimum of five (5) years experience and direct knowledge of products / categories, with an excellent understanding of syndicated data, market trends, category margins, food shows, procurement and purchasing related systems and functionality required. Bachelor’s Degree highly preferred. Proficiency with MS Office required, knowledge of Lotus Notes preferred.
