Senior Business Development Manager
Authsec is seeking a Senior Business Development Manager in Washington, DC. The ideal candidate will know the Federal IT Services Business and have an extensive network of federal and prime contractor contacts as well as be familiar with commercial sales practices and contacts within the Fortune 500 market. The selected candidate will become a vital part of authsec’s senior management team and be able to work from home. authsec is a 30-person IT Security services firm that has been in business for 12 years.
The position includes the following major functions:
Identify business opportunities through existing relationships, networking, and on-line tools
Independently or as part of an Authsec team present credible experience and solutions to the key decision makers
Develop teaming relationships
Support proposal preparation
Refine authsec's market strategy
Develop targeted collateral including capability statement and success story write –ups
The selected candidate will receive the following support:
Substantial direct support from authsec’s Senior staff including President and VP.
Access to on-line tracking/forecasting tools such as Sales Force .com
Support from graphics, proposal management and technical professionals
Ability to utilize existing GSA Schedule contracts and woman-owned, small business status
authsec’s outstanding reputation, satisfied clients, market leading position in the area of Identity Management and Digital Credentials ( smart cards, PKI) HSPD-12 compliance consulting
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements for Senior Business Development Manager
The selected individual will posses the following knowledge and abilities:
Understanding both the federal and commercial business capture process from opportunity identification through contract negotiation.
Knowledge of federal small business contracting
Understanding of the key business and technical elements in IT security, identity & access management technologies, physical security and HSPD-12 requirements
Extensive knowledge of technical and management proposal strategy
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
Excellent organizational skills

The ideal candidate will have the following credentials and experience:
Degree in business, science, or engineering
10+ years of demonstrated business development success including 5+ years of IT Services marketing experience with a focus on the federal government
Extensive federal client and teaming contacts in the Washington DC area
Capability in analysis, problem identification, problem solving, and presentations; strong technical skills in smart card, PKI, biometric and identity management systems; strong analytical skills and attention to detail; excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; willingness to travel; ability to work as a team member as well as independently; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; and ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously. Preferred qualifications include a Master’s degree; knowledge of HSPD-12, FIPS 201 and other relevant standards; experience in or with local, state, or federal government; and experience in systems integration projects involving security, ID authentication and management, biometrics, PKI, smart card and/or e-government.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to the following:
Leading technical teams in the formulation and completion of project engagements for credentialing, identity management and strong authentication clients, including project planning and monitoring, deliverable development, technical assistance to clients, quality assurance services, system implementation support, user training, and project/program evaluation.
Supporting technical sales engineering efforts in support of new business opportunities.
Developing major product deliverables, including technical solutions, requirements documents, technical specifications, client reports, planning studies and analyses, policies and procedures, and project/program evaluations.
Working and directing other staff on a variety of concurrent projects and taking the lead and/or providing assistance as needed to ensure deliverables are met.
Leading and/or assisting in proposal and solution development, including, but not limited to, compiling required documents and information and proposal writing.
Performing other duties as may be assigned by management.
