Senior Advertising Sales Manager

The Sr. Advertising Manager is responsible for supervising the retail and classified advertising department and support staff including hiring, training and directing all members of the local advertising sales staff. The Sr. Advertising Manager is both the strategic and operational planner for the advertising department, responsible for budgeting advertising department expenses and revenue, and attaining revenue goals set for the department. The Sr. Advertising Manager is the liaison in all matters between the advertising department and other departments of the newspaper.
REQUIREMENTS
BA or BS in Advertising, Marketing or related field, or equivalent experience considered. Previous experience supervising 10 + employees. Candidates must have Newspaper Advertising experience and management experience to be considered. Candidates must also have:In-depth knowledge of all facets of advertising sales and marketing; Working knowledge of the various departments within a newspaper; Ability to develop working relationships with all levels; Must demonstrate excellent people, management and sales skills; Must have the ability to plan, organize and set goals; Strong time management skills; Must be able to manage several tasks simultaneously; Must have a thorough knowledge of the market; Excellent presentation skills; Ability to clearly communicate plans and information in both group and one on one; Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision; Must be computer literate and have a working knowledge of marketing databases.
