In this position, you’ll be an important part of the Inside Sales team, assisting customers and outside sales representatives with many of their customer relations activities, including:
•Provide price and availability
•Quote systems and parts
•Follow-up on customer quotes
•Provide technical product information and trouble shooting
•Reschedule orders with manufacturing
•Enter customer and rep media requests
•Write up orders
•Enter correspondence into customer database
•Follow up on Return Material Authorizations
•Enter customer complaints
•Project management
This is a multi-faceted position in a medium-sized organization, so you must be able to interact comfortably with other departments on a regular basis. Qualified candidates will have a proven record of inside sales experience, be comfortable spending 90% of the time on the phone, enjoy a fast working pace and handle details with ease.
Qualified candidates will possess a BA in Sales, Marketing or Business; or equivalent business experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications is also necessary.

REQUIREMENTS
SUMMARY
Product Specialist works with customers and prospects, primarily by telephone/E-mail/fax, to develop appropriate product specifications, quotations, and solve product-specific problems, for the assigned products. Works with the Business Development Specialist and other SBU departments to assure customer satisfaction with our work. Follows up on quotations to give us the best chance of winning the business we quote.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. ( Note: "Product Team" consists of Business Development Specialist, Product Specialist, Technical Specialist, Engineering Specialist, Manufacturing Manager and SBU Sales and Marketing Manager.)
Thoroughly understands the products and applications for the assigned markets handled by the SBU.
Determines customer specifications as they relate to Harlan products, develop quotations, and provide technical documents to customers.
Handles day-to-day customer service problems and issues that may arise, such as:
Stay abreast of the competition - products, features, pricing and service.
Write up customer credits and give to the Accounting Department.
Apply list and discount prices and/or calculate list prices from costs.
Provide back up receptionist support.
Understand and follow filing systems.
Stay abreast of major quotations, and work to put Conductix in the best possible position to win the business.
Work with the outside Sales Reps as appropriate, to achieve SBU goals. Provide feedback on the effectiveness of our rep force.
Provides input to "Product Team" during products development/improvement stages.
Works with Harlan SBU Sales and Marketing Manager, Business Development Specialists to provide input on sales literature, advertising, direct mail, and other types of marketing promotions.
Pursue specific market niche or account objectives on a case-by-case basis.
Representation at trade shows and customer accounts as needed.
Primary inside contact for Outside Sales Reps, in markets assigned. for consideration
Works with the "Product Team" to communicate external customer needs ( and internal sales tool needs) regarding product information.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
