Job Summary:
Responsible for field support of Websense products. Focus of the Sales Engineer position is on new opportunities and existing key accounts. Additional focus is on developing and expanding customer loyalty, increasing brand awareness and generating additional up-sell opportunities. Position works directly with Sales Territory Managers, customers and VARs. Interacts with Technical Support, Product Management and Engineering to coordinate resolution of technical issues. Extensive travel throughout region required.
Essential Functions:
•Provide technical assistance for sales opportunities to customers and partners. Including installations, troubleshooting and training of Websense related products.
•Act as an interface between Sales organization and Technical staff to resolve outstanding issues.
•Assist in closing business in regional territories through field visits to major account prospects.
•Perform product demos at customer and partner sites.
•Provide reporting on customer account and field activities to Sales, product Management and Engineering.
•Conduct technical client meetings and provide written and verbal communication to the client.
•Work closely with customer in the design and implementation/integration of the Websense product.

REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
•Education: Bachelors degree in technical discipline or equivalent related experience.
•Experience: 3+ years experience as a Field Systems Engineer calling on resellers and corporate customers.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Strong presentation skills.
•Prior experience with a software vendor or software reseller.
•Experience conducting product training for resellers and customers.
•In-depth knowledge of best practices for hardware systems implementation.
•Flexibility with travel.
•Strong background in presentation skills to resellers, end users and large audiences.
•Strong commitment to customer loyalty/satisfaction.
•Experience in installation and configuration of network security products such as firewalls, anti-virus or intrusion detection systems.
•Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows NT/2000 operating environments as well as a strong overall understanding of complex computer networking environments, large-scale systems integration projects and software deployments.
•Knowledge and experience with directory structures such as NTLM, Active Directory and eDirectory.
•Experience with Solaris or Linux, proxies, and caching hardware is highly desirable.
