Regional Manager (Sales)

Sylvan's trained and certified teachers provide personalized instruction in reading, writing, mathematics, study skills and test-prep for college entrance and state exams. At Sylvan, students develop the skills to do better in school and the confidence to do better in everything else.
The Regional Manager is responsible for the overall sales and operations of corporate center’s Sylvan At Home Tutoring service in a defined region.
Initially this position will support the Sylvan At Home Tutoring pilot centers during the pilot period. Once the pilot is complete and the service is launched this position will support a specific region.
During the pilot period this position will work closely with the project team while leading the job functions outlined below.
Responsibilities:
Work directly with the project team to define and implement the sales initiatives
Attend weekly project team meetings
Co-facilitate district pilot calls with project team members
Assist project team in identifying opportunities to improve the process, quality and systems.
Ensure region meets or exceeds revenue and profitability Sylvan At Home Tutoring objectives.
Identify, define and implement sales driving initiatives and profitability tactics for Sylvan At Home Tutoring in the region.
Plan, coordinate, and manage daily and monthly activities of Sylvan At Home Tutoring to drive revenue and profits.
Analyze business opportunities through P & L analysis and operations reports of districts to proactively manage the 1:1 business activity for the region.
Prepare quarterly Sylvan At Home Tutoring budgets with Regional Director. Interact with finance department to ensure compliance and accuracy. Monitor, review and give feedback to all centers on weekly statistics and monthly/yearly goals. Responsible for Profit & Loss for region as it relates to the Sylvan At Home Tutoring business.
Hire, train and develop staff in partnership with Human Resources corporate staff, District Managers and other Sylvan At Home Tutoring district staff. Motivate staff to set and achieve goals. Provide on-going feedback to the team.
Oversee, manage, and review the work of the regional Sylvan At Home Tutoring Program Coordinator, Centralized Recruiters and Contract Recruiters. Partner with Human Resources as it relates to dotted line reporting relationship of Centralized Recruiters and Contract Recruiters to Human Resources.
Partner with the District Manager (DM), District Educational Manager (DEM), Center Director (CD) and Director of Education (DE) to plan for growth of the Sylvan At Home Tutoring program. Collaborate to improve centers whose numbers are below budget or expectations.
Lead and facilitate the Sylvan At Home Tutoring communication within each district of the region, scheduling and designing monthly meetings with district teams.
Facilitate weekly conference calls with the Sylvan At Home Program Coordinator, Centralized Recruiters and Contract Recruiters.
Ensure a robust pool of tutors. Assist in interviewing and orientation of tutors as needed.
Communicate and work closely with the Regional Director to ensure the highest level of performance in Sylvan At Home Tutoring in the district, and keep a unified focus on the goals of the corporate centers.
Improve and implement systems that will enhance quality, efficiency, and profitability.
Attend and participate in cooperative marketing meetings with the franchise community in each district. REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors degree in related area preferred and a minimum of 3-5 years of operational and management experience required
Must have multi-unit, sales and management experience at a regional or district level with P & L budget
Proven experience growing/expanding/improving sales in a business
Must have experience with maintaining a suitable workforce to support high volume recruitment and related goals. Employment agency or retail staffing experience desirable
Proven communication and leadership abilities required
