Regional Director of Development

Director of Development Description:
National Wildlife Federation, America’s conservation organization passionate about protecting wildlife for our children’s future, is seeking two dynamic and dedicated individuals to serve as Directors of Development for NE/Mid Atlantic region: (Delaware, Virginia, District of Columbia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont) and for the Rocky Mountains: (Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North and South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming).
The Directors will:
Solicit and steward existing NWF donors as well as identify and assess new individuals and organizations that can make outright gifts at the $10,000 plus level.Coordinates their own and senior staff fundraising trips throughout the regions.Qualify and cultivate key prospects through a strategic program of personal communications and events.Develop and communicate to donors a thorough understanding of NWF’s conservation and education programs and projects of special interest.Maintain familiarity with current local, regional, and national environmental issues.Personally acknowledge appropriate gifts from donors and maintain hard files and electronic donor files.

Seven years experience in fundraising or related field with an emphasis on major gift cultivation and solicitation.Ability to work well with a wide range of individuals excellent oral and written communication skills personal commitment to NWF’s mission and ability to articulate that commitmentWorking knowledge of Windows environment and experience and/or aptitude to learn Word and Raisers Edge
