Program Manager
To further expand our business, DRS Intelligence & Avionic Solutions, Inc. (DRS IAS) located in Dayton, Ohio, has a new requirement for Program Manager. Founded in 1986, DRS IAS is a division of DRS Technologies, a $1B corporation with nearly 10,000 employees nationwide. It is a growth-oriented company supporting the Department of Defense in prime and subcontractor product development, manufacturing, and support roles. DRS IAS develops, manufactures and integrates avionics systems, products for airborne platforms used by the United States and friendly foreign military services. We also provide support for these systems and products worldwide. The Program Manager will be responsible for efficient utilization of resources: scheduling, budgeting, personnel and facilities for the success of major programs. Position duties include:
1. Plan, direct and coordinate activities of designated programs to insure that goals and objectives specified for each person are completed in accordance with prescribed priorities, time limitations and funding conditions.
2. Participate in proposal preparation and review program proposals or plans in determining time frame and funding requirements and allocation of funds to various phases of the program.
3. May negotiate agreements for budgets and schedules for each work element delegated.
4. Develop staffing plans; establish work plans and schedules for each phase of the program in accordance with time limitations and funding. May delegate work.
5. Request personnel according to staffing plan.
6. Consult with staff to outline project plans, designate responsibilities of personnel and establish authority.
7. Direct and coordinate the program activities through subordinates, report the status of each phase and modify schedules as required.
8. Prepare and present status reports and briefings on program activities to management.
9. Consult with program personnel and act as primary liaison with customer to provide technical advice and assist in problem solving.
10. May coordinate the program activities with governmental agency activities.
11.Responsible for additional follow-on sales to existing customers.
REQUIREMENTS
The individual should be a self-starter, creative thinker, results oriented, and interact well with others. Occasional travel will be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
EDUCATION: Engineering degree required; electronics engineering preferred.
EXPERIENCE: 2+ years minimum relevant experience and PMI certification desired. Must have a successful track record in managing complex military electronics equipment programs as a prime contractor. Skills and experience in finance, contracting, export regulations, engineering, and manufacturing required in order to manage those functions within a program.
