Job Description
Background:
Technical Marketing is a specific competence, and integral part of the Americas Marketing organization of MultiMarket Semiconductors Regional Marketing activities. Technical Marketing coordinates and drives activities for BU MMS products in the Americas.
This Technical Marketing staff is functionally an integral part of the Automotive team strategy, reports operationally to the MMs Regional Marketing Manager and is accountable to BL25 GA for product strategy.
Responsibilities / Activities:
In addition to supporting all aspects of the ‘Americas MMS Marketing Strategy Charter’ specific technical marketing tasks include but are not limited to:
Top-level Strategy:
Deploy BU/BL25 design-win strategy, thrust product focus and technology value proposition to the automotive customers, field sales team, application engineers, technical support center and channel organizations. Product focus is BL25 Automotive application portfolio with special focus on sensors.
General Technical Marketing:
Support product crossing, qualification efforts, AVL/BOM improvements for existing MMS/GA product portfolio at exisitng and new automotive customers.
Identify and drive opportunities for pin-for-pin replacements of existing competitor solutions.
Identify and drive opportunities for superior replacement of competiors solutions.
Idnetify and drive opportunities for new designs and applications.
Identify, drive and coordinate Americas activities to support new Sensor products deployment.
SystemSolution, Cross Selling:
Maintains in-depth MMS system/platform knowledge as it pertains to automotive applications.
Drives cross-selling opportunities between BUs on key auto. platforms and applications
Drives cross-selling within MMS to maximise our total portfolio offering
Reference Designs:
Own Automotive participation and coordination of MMS Global reference design program
Capture, catalogue and publish to the web all identified auto. reference designs.
Works closely with marketing, BL, FAEs and saaes people (as applicable) to customize/spin Global designs for adaptation to Americas market requirements
Business Monitoring / Reporting:
Basic understanding of BL Key financial metrics, drivers and influencing trends
Support all required business reports
Provide all required information for BU/BL and Regional reporting
Understand critical product demand, ramp times, NPI-to-volume schedules etc. for new technology products entering the market
Market Intelligence:
Identify and report on technology and market trends in automotive space.
Identify and report on competitor activity as it pertains to MMs portfolio
Identify and report on supply trends/issues/opportunities.
Provide real-time feedback to PMM and BLs on portfolio opportunities, trends, issues etc.
Regular Contact Partners:
Automotive key customers and targeted RSO customers
Automotive sales team
BU MMS Regional Marketing and MMS Marketing groups WW (as required)
PD Business Lines and BU staff (as required)
Philips Semiconductor Sales force: Account managers, FAEs and Customer Partnership Centers (as required)
Other BU Marketing teams (as required) to coordinate pricing and contracting

o Min. 2 years technical support/sales/marketing experience within a marketing / sales environment, in the semiconductor/electronics industry.
o Min. 3 years first-hand experience in the automotive technical design community
Strong verbal, communication and social skills.
A flexible team player with a pro-active and hands-on approach
Experienced with MS Office, mainly advanced MS Excel skills.
