Working with Marketing and Advanced Development, refine product concepts, estimate manpower and time requirements, and estimate cost of goods. Driving all R&D efforts for quadrupole MS, including Mechanical, Electrical and Software Engineering, and Chemist/Physical tasks. Manage all sustaining engineering efforts (field issues, obsolescence, etc.)for the quadrupole MS product line. Providing leadership to projects and the engineering team. Drive continuous improvements in our R&D processes. Drive continuous improvements in our R&D processes. Mentoring of staff, identification of key employees and creating/maintaining development plans are expected. Process improvement in all areas (engineering processes and tools, evaluation processes and tools, product development processes and tools). REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications:
Required experience and training:
BS in Chemistry or Engineering and 7 years experience in a leadership position. MS or PhD preferred. Strong background in analytical instruments. Working knowledge of Mass Spectrometry, Gas and Liquid Chromatography. Experience with transmission quadrupole mass spectrometers required. Proven project leadership experience. Experience with Six Sigma and/or Lean processes highly desireable.
Several years of experience at a direct competitor (SciEx, Thermo, Agilent, Shimadzu, Micromass) strongly desired.CB
