POSITION DESCRIPTION: Development of additive formulation technology for automotive (passenger cars and heavy duty trucks) engine oils. Involves the design and execution of experiments to define additive responses in key performance tests and using this to create formulations meeting industry requirements. Provide technical support to internal and external customers including problem solving related to engine oils, training, and presentation of data and industry trends. Strong teamwork skills and team leadership skills are required. A strong working knowledge of internal combustion engine design and operation principles is required. Background in organic chemistry is a benefit; job will entail developing knowledge on how the chemistry of lubricant additives and base oils impact engine performance. Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemical/Mechanical engineering or Organic Chemistry is required.
