Product Development Coordinator

Description:

The position is responsible for coordinating and executing R&D projects including fully supporting product development, technical support to other departments, and regulatory compliance of Product labels.

Duties and Responsibilities:

•Participate in the development of new product formulation, working with the department manager, suppliers, and consultants.
•Coordinate new private label products, working closely with packaging and sales departments.
•Develop, communicate, and maintain product specification, including ingredients and packaging.
•Maintain and keep up-to-date ingredient library, lab supplies, lab analysis costs, technical files, and lab equipment.
•Assist in maintaining files and writing and editing materials for WEB, sales support, and customer service.
•Provide full nutritional and specifications support to other departments: quality, packaging, production.
•Maintain, follow up, and interface with departments to ensure the flow of new product development process.
•Provide support in the research of potential analytical laboratories.
•Search vendors and coordinate requirements with suppliers as necessary.
•Provide regulatory support to ensure product and label compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
•Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Skills:

*B.S. in Food Science, Dairy Science, or related science degree.

*Minimum of 2 years experience in a food development lab or equivalent.

*Proven project management, organizational, and technical skills.

*Excellent Math and computer skills; plus proven knowledge of spreadsheets.

*Superior communication skills with strong attention to details and accuracy.

*Excellent verbal and written documentation skills in both business and technical.

*A strong regulatory background is preferred.
