Process Improvement Specialist
Summary of Responsibilities: The process improvement specialist works with the management team in identifying, facilitating, and implementing business process improvement initiatives across the organization. Works with IT developing work and data flow maps and establishing system requirements. The position trains the organization in the application of process improvement/quality tools and techniques, in data analysis, developing performance metrics, and benchmarking. Assists managers in the development of strategies, goals, and business plans to meet their corporate accountabilities. Reports to the Manager, Process Improvement.
Essential Responsibilities: • Identify opportunities for business process improvement across ATC.
• Lead and facilitate continuous process improvement teams/projects and initiatives that support business objectives.
• Analyze processes, workflows, and performance objectives to align with corporate goals and customer expectations.
• Collaborate with technology and business leaders to develop processes’ information system requirements and evaluate improvement opportunities.
• Develop business performance metrics, analyze data and report on trends, conduct root cause analyses, recommend and implement effective solutions.• Facilitate and / or participate in project groups throughout the organization. Lead group to accomplish desired outcomes by providing structured process and tools.
• Demonstrate / teach process improvement methodologies as appropriate.
• Benchmark ATC practices against leading practices in the industry.
• Participate in process improvement associations to keep up with best practices.
REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Requirements:
Experience:• Minimum of 3 years progressive experience in process engineering, process improvement, planning, quality system development, or related areas.• Demonstrated experience in team facilitation and change management are required. Practical experience using quality/process models (e.g. TQM, Six Sigma, Lean Enterprise Concepts) as well as knowledge of the energy industry are highly desirable.
