As a leader within Owens Corning, this individual must have demonstrated experience at being accountable for and holding others accountable for working safely while providing appropriate resources to ensure incident-free operations. In addition, the successful candidate must have experience at driving toward a vision of zero injuries, zero defects and step change productivity by ensuring alignment with and supporting the Company’s vision and values.This is a critical job to the performance and continued growth of the Jacksonville Asphalt Plant, in the Roofing and Asphalt Business (R&A). Reporting to the Director of Asphalt/Mat Manufacturing Operations, this leadership position is accountable for a unionized, multi-shift 24/7 manufacturing operation. The Plant Leader directs the efforts of 14 production employees, 1 Production Lead and 1 customer service specialist.

Lead Jacksonville Asphalt manufacturing operations to drive culture change and commitment around safety, talent management and development, employee engagement, diversity and operational excellence
Ensures goals are directly aligned in support of the plant “Contract”, Division Manufacturing “Vision”, and Corporate Strategic Areas of Focus.
Is accountable and holds others accountable for working safely while providing appropriate resources to ensure the incident-free operation of the plant.
Ensures the safe manufacturing of product that is delivered to the customer meeting all FFUs.
Communicate with impact and build partnerships with all levels of the value chain (customers, primary employees, business managers, sales, S&T, supply chain, finance, manufacturing support, etc.) to affect process and performance improvement efforts
Efficient utilization of plant personnel and equipment to maximize productivity and cost effectiveness in meeting the plant's business plan.
Actively manages the continued training, development and growth of all plant employees.
Lead deployment of a world-class manufacturing system with intense focus on driving and institutionalizing continuous improvement and waste elimination through six sigma, 5s and lean manufacturing.
Create an environment that attracts and retains both internal and external extraordinary talent.
Leads by example and drives this behavior at all levels within areas of responsibility - creates atmosphere of accountability in the workplace.
Sets clear expectations of performance and establishes, communicates and regularly reviews “commitments” to make certain milestones are achieved as planned.
Facilitates a culture that develops and leverages customer relationships along with fully supporting community partnerships and involvement for the facilities and its employeesCANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:EDUCATION:
3-4 Year College/University Degree Engineering or Business is EssentialSix Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is Preferred
