PRODUCT & OPPORTUNITY ANALYST II
Position Purpose
- Coordinates and participates in the implementation of strategies via the design, development and implementation of rates, programs, and underwriting changes. - Actively pursues the successful representation of Product Management on Oversight Teams - Responsible for ensuring profitable growth and increasing market share through: Market Intelligence; Research & Development of Product, Price & Underwriting; Premium Development; Profitability Management; and Targeted Growth. Specific Accountabilities:
- Proactively pursues profitable strategies with assigned programs via Oversight Teams. - Develops professional relationships with program managers. - Provides guidance to other Product Analysts to support their development. - Coordinates and conducts research and quantitative and qualitative analysis on existing and emerging insurance markets, products and competitors. Create, revise, and position company products to increase profit and market share. - Complete and maintain market research (including, but not limited to, pricing matrix, rate adequacy, loss trends, competitive landscape, regulation, etc…) in all states. - Support Team initiatives and develops Team relationships. - Works along Pricing Manager to coordinate and review product pricing, and rate revisions in assigned markets. - Monitor monthly premium & loss reports, and provide analysis on variance to forecast, as well as make timely and necessary recommendations to ensure corporate profit objectives are achieved. - Agency Management – interact with Oversight Teams to review agency profile/scorecard and overall book profile. - Build and maintain strong interdepartmental working relationships. - Participate in regulatory and compliance projects as needed. - Participate in preparation and editing underwriting manuals, policy forms, and other materials. - Evaluate, coordinate changes, test and quality assure rating software developed by outside vendors.
REQUIREMENTS
-Education - Bachelors degree - MBA or pursuing MBA preferred - Insurance designation preferred, i.e. CPCU, ASA, FCAS, etc.
-Experience - 2 or more years of successful commercial insurance product management, underwriting, pricing, or rate making experience. Personal Lines experience will be considered; or - 6 or more years business experience with specific knowledge of business practices and/or technology systems that lends itself to successful transition to Lincoln General Insurance.
-Skills - Expert knowledge of spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel, various databases, MS Access and pivot tables). - Expert verbal and/or written communication skills - Very organized and detail oriented
