Outside Sales, Fire & Rescue Equipment

Fire & rescue equipment distributor seeks outside sales representative, responsible for the state of Idaho, plus portions of neighboring states. The position requires working out of a “home office” in the Boise area, and will require frequent travel (up to 50% at the start). We have an established market base but seek additional growth. This is an excellent opportunity for a “self-starter”, able to work independently.Pay is commission based, with a monthly "draw upon commission".
REQUIREMENTS
• Able to be productive when working independently.• Sales experience - at least 2 years is recommended.• Firefighting experience - helpful but not required.• Must be able to sell the "quality" product.• Good health and physical condition is required. Able to load, lift, and use equipment in practical applications.• The candidate should have excellent verbal & written communication abilities. Product presentations to customers are required, as are frequent written proposals and correspondence.• Able to travel & cover sales area. This will require frequent overnight trips.• Often requires evening or weekend meetings and demonstrations.• Computer knowledge and proficiency.• Successfully & punctually complete required paperwork, including entering notes in contact management software after meetings and conversations, and scheduling follow-up with customers.• Periodic goals, planning, reports, as well as regular communication with management.• Background check is required, clean driving record, and must pass drug testing.• Willing to sign employee contract, including non-compete clause.• Demonstrated "Attention to Detail".
