OM Workspace Sales Rep - Charlotte, NC

The Workspace Account Executive finds, qualifies, generates and closes new business opportunities within the A&D markets as well as with corporate end users. In this position you will also create and maintain relationships within the design community at all levels, librarians, junior design, senior design, project managers and principal level and create and conduct seminars/presentations to keep the OfficeMax Workspace name connected to expertise, efficiency and knowledge. Other duties include: Negotiates with the client/designer/project manager until the project is awarded.
Develops and executes marketing programs to create and maintain visibility among the design firms, real estate brokers, and project management companies as well as builds upon developing relationships. Belongs to and/or creates a networking group to exchange current project information on a monthly basis. Is an active participant in associations for additional exposure, like ASID, IFMA, CREW, CREO, etc. Acts as main liaison between OfficeMax Workspace and the Teknion and Kimball A&D representatives. Presents products, services and programs to A&D firms.
Manages additional marketing personnel in networking, lead generation, and sales follow-up. Creates written responses for RFP's. Manages additional marketing personnel and programs. Coordinates and develops all special events. Networks and builds relationships in order to exchange information. Attends industry events and participates in associations. Develops appropriate written response for product presentations in the course of RFP response and answers all RFP questions, as well as negotiations with the client/designer/project manager until awarded. Project opportunities that are awarded to Workspace will then be handled off to the sales staff. REQUIREMENTS


Bachelor's degree business, communication and/or marketing (strongly preferred); 5+ years of successful outside sales experience selling to mid-large corporate customers (office products, office furniture, office papers, computer peripherals or transferable industry experience preferred); Exceptional industry, dealer and product knowledge required;
Proven success in developing new business and generating sales leads (70% new business/30% existing) by managing a territory and selling activities; Expertise in achieving revenue goals and managing a sales territory (valid driver's license required; minimal overnight travel may be required); Awesome record of maintaining a sales pipeline to achieve goals and maintain quality customer relationships and gain referrals for new customers; Unparalleled problem-solving and negotiation finesse; Relentless customer service to effectively interact with all levels of an organization; Superior PC skills utilizing MS Office products, email, and other proprietary software; and Some travel is required
