New combustion development and design engineering position to be part of a new development team for creating the next generation of products. The initial development project will be about 9 months in duration and it will create the development and design concept for three more new development projects that will run an additional 3 –5 years into the future.
Will be involved in the project development, design and release to mfg from the beginning as they shape their concept. Will be hands-on involved in development and actual design, prototype, test and release to mfg. This specific product development will be in the area of totally new commercial heating products (not offered today). Companies current products include and someone could come from (as well as other experience) a combustion background of industrial and commercial application products of: steam heat, boilers, hot water heaters, roof top units, furnaces, make up air systems, etc. Will be involved in the development/design of the entire product, as well as, the combustion aspects. Majority of projects will involve design of overall combustion system such combustion chamber, airflows, etc. Will select thermocouples, controls, and burners, etc and will on occasional either design or modify burners. Activities include experimental work to evaluate combustion designs. Combustion products are generally gas, may have one or two special projects using oil. Interface with marketing on needs and possibilities in design, interface and communicate with production and mfg. engineering on current capabilities and future needs to support new products and communicate with service on issues as they develop. Troubleshoot and conduct prototype testing in the lab and field.
Will have designer and lab technician support for prototype and testing. But, typical of combustion engineering work, plenty of hands-on testing in the lab. Additionally, will be involved in design of test for various agencies, gathering test data and submittals for agency approvals. Requires someone who has been through development and design project for gas-fired heating product within industry. Not looking for a trainee.

Some project management skills is a plus.
