Merchandise Planning and Assessment Business Analyst

Overview
• The Merchandise Planning and Assessment team performs an annual strategic review of all product categories and delivers insights to the Purchasing department.

Responsibilities
• Diagnose and challenge current business in order to improve profit, optimize inventory investment, and determine if we have the right space allocated to the department.
• Communicate results to purchasing department and senior management in formal and informal settings.
• Advise on tactics to drive business improvements and implementation strategies.
• Effectively develop and manage strong relationships with clients in purchasing and senior management.

Qualifications
• BA/BS degree in Business, Marketing, Economics and/or Math a plus; other fields of study are welcome.
• 2-5 years of experience in retail, consumer packaged goods or consulting.
• Experience performing business analyses to identify current state problems and recommend solutions.
• Strong Excel skills.
• Strong business acumen.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage deadlines effectively.
• Ability to serve as a mentor/role model to peers within the department as well as to clients.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently.
