Our client is a leading marketer and world-class manufacturer of pump products that command sustainable competitive advantage in their respective markets.By developing supplier, distributor and customer networks for the various industries and market segments they serve, the firm has global reach. Their strength in the North American markets has extended overseas, due to a strong presence in the oil and gas, power generation and other industries. Our client maintains strong partners at many levels with companies throughout the world, where their supplier base is one of the most cost competitive, thereby adding value that can be passed along to their customers.They seek a Market Manager to develop global strategies for the oil and gas division. In this newly created position the Market Manager will identify both products and service offerings tailored to meet the needs of their customer base.The Market Manager will lead cross-divisional development of global market strategies for the Oil & Gas segment that are based on end-user needs. Through the use sophisticated market research techniques to identify unmet customer needs, he/she will develop end-user benefit-driven market segmentation strategies. The successful candidate has a strong grasp of prioritization of new product development and/or solution offerings, working with division product managers and engineers to bring these new products/services to market.This role represents an opportunity to train division marketers, division sales force, and channel partners to ensure proper execution of the strategy while implementing integrated marketing communication strategies. Development of sales lead and lead tracking processes. Key tactics include: development of end-user literature and sales tools, customer focused web sites, P.R. campaigns, advertisements, trades shows and outbound marketing (direct mail and/or e-mail campaigns).
Track and publish an industry marketing report on a quarterly basis including industry trends, competitor analysis, and customer issues/opportunities. 7 - 10 years of prior sales and marketing experience in the oil & gas industry. Thorough knowledge of both upstream and downstream oil & gas manufacturing processes. Experience and understanding of large oil & gas sector supplier decision making process. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of B2B customer research and CRM data base marketing techniques preferred Exceptional leadership and “people skills” required. Must be able to work well with divisional sales and marketing leaders in order to build consensus and gain support for market driven strategies. Undergraudate degree in Engineering, Business or related field; MBA preferred
