Description:
Ensure compliance with provisions of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (COBRA) and all other legislation governing employee benefit plans to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements
Develop short-range and long-range benefit strategies and objectives regarding benefit plans in conjunction with the Director of Compensation, Benefits & Payroll and Vice President of Human Resource
Research and implement competitive benefit trends and best practices
Oversee and coordinate the execution of employee benefits programs including health, dental, life, disability, 401(k), employee stock purchase plan and other benefit programs
Direct employee benefits education activities such as the preparation and distribution of benefits communication materials for benefits orientation, open enrollment, and related activities
Monitor the administrative costs and pricing of benefit programs and recommends cost containment strategies including alternative methods of administration and funding
Work with the Director, as well as benefit consultants to establish, negotiate, and maintain contracts with vendors and to ensure vendor adherence to contractual guidelines and stipulations particularly as it relates to benefits administration and benefits consulting
Plan and coordinate quarterly meetings with vendors
Prepare budgetary recommendations and assists in monitoring, verifying and reconciling of budgeted funds
Measure, analyze, benchmark and report on benefit plans, including participation in benefit plan surveys and review of benefit claims experience
Prepare and review benefits documentation such as Summary Plan Descriptions (SPDs) and benefits contracts. Oversee the appropriate management of employee’s benefits files
Act as liaison with benefit providers and company management
Manage a staff of Benefits professionals
Requirements:
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to effectively interact with employees at all levels within the organization
Ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple tasks
Proficient with Microsoft Office software, including skills with spreadsheet (Excel) programs
Belief and support of Guiding Principles: Safety, Courtesy, Pride, Teamwork, and Innovation
Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (current or future)
Ability to provide 10 years of employment, education, unemployment history per FAR 108.33
Successful completion of FBI criminal history check that reveals no felony convictions in most recent 10 years
