Manager, IT Support Services

We are currently searching for a Manager of IT Support Services. This position is responsible for insuring the overall support of all hardware, software, network and enterprise services in a complete and timely manner. They are also responsible for the continued growth and development of the technical support staff.Specific Duties and ResponsibilitiesManages and develops IT support staff which includes training, developing growth plans, discipline, shift scheduling, setting work priorities, performance evaluation and directing work assignments. Directs the activities of the IT support staff to insure that all support related problems are resolved in a timely and efficient manner for all internal and external clients.
Develops, recommends and implements operational techniques and methodologies which insure full use of machines and personnel.Develops hardware plans in conjunction with other managers, in accordance with long and short-term enterprise objectives; directs hardware evaluation; plans, installs, tests, and coordinates the corresponding systems software changes.Insures the efficient and trouble free operation of all IT equipment, supported software, and remote and local communications.Recommends projects to IT management and users for approval and assesses alternative systems approaches for workability and economic feasibility.Assures appropriate hardware inventory is maintained and manages purchase of non-capital equipment in accordance with business objectives.Reviews documentation and assures it is complete, acceptable and accordance with standards. Prepares regular project status reports for IT Director. Recognizes and identifies potential areas where existing policies and procedures require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future business expansion.Assists in the preparation of employee evaluations as required. Makes recommendations regarding staffing requirements and employee discipline, but does not have the authority to execute decision in these areas independently. Fulfills departmental requirements by providing work coverage and administrative notification during periods of personnel illness, vacation or education.Provides for capacity planning and resource utilization reporting by directing the development of documented tools and techniques for that purpose, and assuring the completion of records and production of reports concerning resource utilization.Prepares and administers performance evaluations and recommends salary adjustments for salaried subordinates.
REQUIREMENTS
Education RequiredBS Computer Science, Information Systems or related field.Training and Specialized Knowledge3 years previous work experience in IT management; 5 years previous work experience in network administration; 8 years in IT technical support role. Cisco Certified Network Associate and Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer designation preferred.Experience Required5+ years previous work experience with Windows Server, Exchange; minimum 3 years with Cisco VoIP (Call Manager, Unity, Call Center).
