MANAGER, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Under limited direction, responsible for achieving assigned revenue goals by developing comprehensive sales programs and obtaining orders from customers in territories and/or accounts assigned. Accountable for the sale of all Validation Technologies services and solutions to new and existing accounts. Coordinates the technical and project management support that is required for the sales to be developed. Typically responsible for territories that include established, strategically important customers requiring increased levels of expertise.
Specific Responsibilities:
1. Develops and maintains key customer contacts and promotes the use and purchase of all IVT services:
a) Routinely calls on customer’s top management representatives to promote IVT services and capabilities and to acquaint them with the entire Invensys offering.
b) Develops and implements sales presentations providing solutions to the customer’s compliance needs.
c) Consults with customer and arranges for all necessary technical assistance to aid on particularly complex compliance issues or where new approaches are required.
d) Ensures that prospective business opportunities that require expertise in other Invensys product lines are communicated to the appropriate Sales division representative.
2. Evaluates the immediate sales potential of the assigned accounts and territories and assumes a leadership role in planning and developing the sales approach and program:
a) Studies assigned accounts to determine all possible sales potential.
b) Independently plans sales strategy based on sales potential.
c) Keeps informed concerning new developments at accounts that might alter sales efforts.
3. Closes the sale personally, providing any technical or sales assistance necessary and involves additional level management as appropriate
a) Provides customer with assistance in the preparation of specifications, preferably from initial planning stages, and endeavors to sell Invenys’ total capability.
b) Prepares quotations based on the competitive situation following IVT business unit guidelines.
c) Analyzes reasons for obtaining or losing the sale for use in future sales efforts.
4. Provides customers and prospective customers with all possible technical and professional assistance with their compliance and regulatory problems in order to build potential sales.
a) Evaluates and pursues new business opportunities to enhance territory growth.
b) Evaluates the competitive situation and develops strategies to improve Invensys’ position in the territory. Provides input to the Marketing team relative to compliance requirements, competitive activities and industry trends.
c) Arranges for Subject Matter Expert (SME) assistance on complex compliance problems.
5. Provides customers with continuing service and maintains profitable relationships:
a) Serves as liaison between customers and Invensys on any problems which arise.
b) Periodically provides technical support visits to address new service offerings and promote additional IVT solutions.
6. Keeps informed concerning changes and additions to IVT services and offerings, new solutions, competitors' products and prices.
7. At the request of the Director of Sales, assists other sales personnel on specific projects requiring a team effort or additional expertise.
8. Prepares and maintains all necessary records and reports.
9. Responsible for the quality of all work performed, including work processes, methodologies and output.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelors Degree
A minimum of 5 years experience in the pharmaceutical industry (Essential)
A minimum of 3 years experience in Business developpement (Essential)
A minimum from 2 to 5 years experience as a project manager or a technical lead in one of those fields: validation, cGMP, automation or computer validation.
