K-12 Educational Sales Representative


A prominent, well established and highly respected distributor of wholesale school textbooks, is seeking to hire an experienced field sales professional to sell their products and services to the K-12 educational marketplace.

The position of Educational Sales Representative requires:
•3+ years successful experience selling educational products to the K-12 marketplace
•A proven track record of developing new business as well as, penetrating further into existing markets
•A demonstrated ability to develop and sustain relationships with clients over large, multi-state territories, requiring heavy overnight travel
•Demonstrated successful territory management including profitability and expense management
•Demonstrated track record of job stability that includes air and overnight travel
•Minimum of a Bachelors Degree
•Experience as a public school administrator or educational background is a plus
•A self-disciplined, well-organized, internally motivated individual
•Rep can live anywhere in the United States and will travel by air/car throughout the U.S.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
•Increase sales of used textbooks and all new product lines to private and public schools by calling on school principals, district school officials, board of education officials and textbook coordinators
•Establish new sales and networking strategies and techniques within existing markets
•Initiate and direct sales activities, generate and qualify leads, and close business
•Establish and manage long-term relationships with new and existing accounts
•Create sales forecasts and develop the strategic and tactical sales plans to meet and exceed sales forecasts
•Increase market share through effective networking and servicing strategies
•Be an effective steward of territory profitability and expense management
•Monitor industry and competitive activity to report new areas of opportunity
•Ensure quality service to accounts and coordinate support for clients

Final candidates will be asked to participate in the company’s assessment process and will submit to a drug, credit, and background check.

A competitive compensation package will be offered that includes a base salary + commissions + incentives. Other benefits include paid vacation, health insurance, 401k, paid business travel expenses, use of notebook computer and cell phone.
