Started in 1964, our client is a highly successful and profitable company in the food industry based on Long Island, NY that markets a line of specialty confectionary items to retail stores, hotels, casinos, amusement parks, gourmet sweet shops, gift shops and specialty stores worldwide allowing their customers to brand the items as their own. This unique program has helped thousands of retailers earn exceptional profits (typically 72%-79%) year after year.
Due to the tremendous growth this company has experienced over the past several years, they are seeking talented sales professionals to help them keep up with the growing demand for their unique sales program by expanding sales to retailers nationwide. The Inside Sales Consultant placed in this role will be responsible for increasing the number of new customers by generating leads through tradeshows, cold calling and customer referrals. Additional responsibilities will include:
Attendance and coordination of National Tradeshows. (Up to 7 overnight stays per year)
Effectively communicate and present this unique sales program to potential prospects including cost and return on investment
Communicate the key aspects of private labeling some of the world’s finest confectionary items in their retail store
Gather competitor information whenever possible
Suggest improvements to the tradeshow process
Research and qualify new potential prospects
Acquire customer referrals from existing client database
Inbound and outbound sales calls
Create, explain and send a customized business plan to each new customer
Communicate with Field Sales Consultants on a weekly basis about the status of leads you are involved with
Analyze and review performance of new customers against plan to ensure best practices are achieved and sales are maximized
Travel required approximately 10%-20%, including weekend travel and overnight stays for tradeshows
REQUIREMENTS
The ideal candidate will be:
Highly motivated and driven to succeed
The ability to sell a “concept” and not just a product
A consultative sales style
Accustomed to a longer sales cycle (typically 3-5 months)
Ethical, responsible, reliable and extremely detail oriented
Strong cold calling skills with the ability to proactively research new prospects
A true team player with excellent communication and follow up skills
Solid sales experience (in any industry) with a proven track record of success
4 year college degree preferred
Compensation includes a Base Salary (dependant on experience) plus Bonus. First Year earnings are expected to be in the $45K to $65K range!
