Graphic Artist I

Designs art and copy layouts for marketing and collateral materials to be presented by visual communications media. These may include brochures, advertising, books, magazines, newspapers, television, web pages and packaging and promotional marketing materials. Using graphic design technology, freehand artwork, computer software packages, photography and other artistic media, plans presentation of material product or service. Sets specifications and instructions for workers or vendors who assemble and prepare final layouts for printing. Reviews and approves final layouts for production. May produce still or animated graphic formats for videotaped portions of electronic broadcasts.First level position requires use and/or application of basic principles, theories and concepts. Solves problems that are generally of moderate scope and complexity, following established policies and procedures. Work is generally supervised. Follows specific instructions on new assignments. Contributions are usually task-related activities.
