Fundraising Events Manager - SILICON VALLEY

EVENTS MANAGER – SILICON VALLEY

The Foundation Fighting Blindness is committed to driving the research that will provide preventions, treatments and cures for retinal degenerative disorders. We are actively recruiting an Events Manager to be part of our team. This position reports directly to the National Director, Events. This position will be located in our Silicon Valley offices.

Specifically this position will:
Develop, implement and support new and existing fundraising events.
Plan fundraising, walks and events
Develop volunteer sponsorships and participation.
Will have oversight of fiscal management of events
REQUIREMENTS
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree plus three years of paid experience in event planning
Exposure to advertising, publication and promotion development
Fundraising with walk-a-thon experience required
A proven track record in special event fundraising and experience with donor databases are musts
Proficient use of MS Office Suite (including Word, Excel and Powerpoint), desktop publishing and database are required
Must possess excellent verbal/written communication skills, technology
Ability to lead and motivate volunteers
Attention to detail and ability to work under deadlines
