Walden's high academic standards are demonstrated by the dedication of its faculty and staff to programs that help students make a difference in their professions, organizations, and communities.Field Representative NursingThe Field Representative is responsible for recruiting qualified students for Walden University's regionally accredited online MSN and RN to MSN degree programs. The Field Representative is responsible for implementing all of the local recruitment efforts for nurse and health care services professionals within a specified territory, and will support the overall strategic plan for Walden's graduate enrollment nationally.
The successful candidate will have a thorough and first-hand understanding of the professional development and advanced graduate needs of nurses and related health care professionals, as well as familiarity with the rapidly changing dynamics of health care organizations. The Field Representative will be the local representative for Walden University to hospitals, residential care facilities, state and municipal health centers, nursing and allied health associations, and other health care organizations. In that role, the Field Representative must have truly exceptional presentation, communication and organizational skills, as well as an obvious and infectious passion for the professional development of nurses and the value of online higher education.Duties and ResponsibilitiesConduct 10-15 onsite enrollment activities per month, including--but not limited to--information sessions, hospital visits, and in-service programs.Publicize and market Walden University within a specific territory by attending local, regional and national health care conferences and events, and participating in relevant nurse-oriented activities in local communities.
Understand and present Walden University's Nursing programs and other health related degree program offerings to nurses and nurse administrators.
With support from the Enrollment and Marketing teams, coordinate invitations, room setup, registrations, and materials for each session.
Cooperate with other field staff to plan appropriate and strategic territory recruitment efforts for all of Walden University's degree programs.
Build relationships with current students as well as alumni to identify new group potential and new opportunities to present the Walden programs.Maintain current and thorough knowledge of all Nursing degree programs, and the regulatory, operational and pedagogical complexities of the hospital and health care industry.Assist in other field-based efforts on behalf of Walden University as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, skills and abilities required:
Bachelor's degree required, with a background in nursing strongly preferred.Must have 2-5 years experience in hospital sales or nurse education, preferably within the assigned territory.Demonstrated success selling into hospitals, nurse associations and other healthcare organizations is highly desirable. Must have truly exceptional presentation skills, and must be capable of delivering persuasive and sales-oriented presentations to both small and large groups of nurses and nurse administrators. Must be extremely well-organized and attentive to detail. The successful candidate will work well under pressure and will be eager to succeed in a competitive, results-orientedenvironment. Significant regional travel (50% or greater) is required.Ability to work independently and to self-direct his/her daily activities is essential.Strong written and verbal communication skills are important, as is facility with technology and mediated communication.
