FIELD SALES REP

Schuster Electronics, Inc. is a successful and established regional distributor of electronic components, a manufacturer’s rep for a prominent TFT Display manufacturer, and an offshore sourcing solutions provider for many electronic components. Schuster is a privately help company still run by its founding family and has been in operation since 1904. At present, we have an excellent opportunity for a Field Sales Representative (FSR) in our Michigan territory, covering primarily the lower half of the state of Michigan.

The purpose of the FSR is to build and maintain influential relationships with customers, suppliers and Schuster colleagues to create demand for products Schuster offers by proactively offering solutions from an engineering and procurement perspective. This involves interaction with multiple departments and levels within a customer including engineering, production, and purchasing as well as a large supplier base. The primary function of the FSR is to be involved in the customers' design cycle from concept to production in order to secure as many designs as possible on a customer's end product, working directly with customers on concepts, new designs and procurement. Additionally, the FSR will be communicating with management on new opportunities, performance of territory, identification of potential performance risks of territory, and escalating customer issues/concerns as needed.

Job Responsibilities:
- Demand Creation: Understands the relationship between demand creation and long-term success/growth within account base. Some technical ability -can identify Design Win opportunities but also utilize Schuster associates and supplier representatives for assistance in part selection.
- Can identify the potential/need for a solution at their customers and knows when to bring in the appropriate resources in support.
- Relationships: Builds upon their customer relationships and works closely with suppliers to find ways to increase sales.
- Account Management: Can develop a strong understanding of the customers design cycles, purchasing habits and works to maximize Schuster’s sales. Utilize Schuster Supplier support when necessary.
- Planning: Strategy/Action Planning: Participates in the development of supplier and customer action plans and has a good understanding of each customers business.
- Technical Skills: Performs some technical discovery without FAE help, knows some key questions to ask for product identification.
Qualifications:
- College Degree or equivalent training
- 4-6 years experience
- Prefer experience in electronics distribution, or Mfg Rep for electronic product
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships
- Ability to influence decisions of others
- Presentation skills
- Technical aptitude
- Ability to learn quickly
