Job Responsibilities:
This position is accountable for the promotion and sale of a broad range of engineered solutions, products and services under the direction of the Area Sales Manager. Job tasks include the development of new sales opportunities across a variety of market segments that consist of government, industrial and commercial accounts. The main focus of the role is to sell Services' products and labor at both new and established accounts. The candidate must possess knowledge of electrical power distribution systems. Areas of selling focus include: 1.) Power System Studies; 2.) Retrofit/Upgrade of existing equipment; 3.) New equipment application and turn-key projects; and 4.) On-site troubleshooting, testing and preventive maintenance. The skills required of this position include the ability to present these capabilities to customers, distributors, contractors, consultants and the internal sales team within the Field Office environment. The Service Sales Engineer must utilize excellent product and process knowledge to be able to define and offer engineered solutions that satisfy a defined need. The salesperson must often educate customers on value pricing and application competitive advantages, and how they meet customers' needs. Routine tasks include customer site visits to understand and assist with the definition of the scope of work, development of job costs and determination of competitive selling price for the scope of work, negotiations with the customer and proper hand-off of all related job materials to Operations for successful execution. This position must coordinate pricing strategies, understand market conditions, related to the respective selling channels, develop intra-office relationships and adapt to changes that may affect the applicable area. This role will act as a "Product Specialist" for the Services Division of Square D
