Director of Admissions - Healthcare Marketing
Primary Objectives of the Position:
A. Markets the facility and directs the admission process. *
B. Works with Administrator and back-up team to assess inquiries when necessary and responds to referrers within one hour whenever possible.*
C. Ensures comprehensive gathering and documentation of customer data which will enhance admission of residents.*
D. Works with Administrator and appropriate staff to ensure consistent, effective resident admissions, discharges and transfers.*
E. Nurtures referral relationships through aggressive, customer-oriented admissions process.*
F. Stays abreast of services available within Evergreens in order to serve as liaison for the facility to hospital discharge planners, utilization review nurses, assisted living staff, physicians, and other professionals.*
G. Identify marketing opportunities in the surrounding community.*
H. Works with Administrator to ensure customer satisfaction and to assess/respond to customer satisfaction surveys.*
I. Manages Marketing and outside advertising budget.
J. Performs other duties as requested.
* ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Major Accountabilities as they relate to the primary objectives:
B. (1) Meets census goals by working with the center’s interdisciplinary team to coordinate customer flow into and through the Evergreens.
(2) Works to ensure immediate response to phone, fax, and walk-in inquiries and referrals.
(3) Completes tour, application, and sales process with customers, families and referrers.
(4) Ensures proper completion, signing and distribution of paperwork.
(5) Meets with family, customer and customers on day of admission and ensures appropriate preparation of room and introduction to nursing staff on unit.
(6) Communicates admission criteria to referral sources, customers and families.
C. (1) Maintains thorough knowledge of medical, social and financial information relating to Long Term Care.
(2) Conducts follow-up on all inquiries which have not yet been converted to admissions.
D. (1) Maintains statistics indicating customer flow, pending and lost inquiries, denials, hospital discharges and marketing activity; submit to Administrator.
E. (1) Develops and maintains referral base.
(2) Works to initiate, nurture and maintain contacts with physicians, social workers, and discharge planners as valued customers to maximize referrals and facilitate admissions.
F. (1) Provides information to referral sources of customer’s progress as appropriate.
G. (1) Assists in the development and implementation of long-range and short-term marketing plans.
(2) Coordinates and participates in presentations about the Evergreens or other appropriate healthcare topics to hospitals, physicians, and other potential referral sources.
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
?Four year college degree
