Group Overview:


The mission of the Capability Sourcing Team (CST) is to develop
overall corporate capability sourcing strategy for Schwab. These
functions include maintaining the approved country and vendor list,
integrating sourcing activities throughout the firm, overseeing
vendor selection and portfolio management, providing input to
enterprises on sourcing strategy, and ensuring consistent internal
and external corporate communications strategy. The team collaborates
with enterprises throughout the sourcing lifecycle, and also ensures
that adequate governance and risk management measures are in place
for all sourcing activities. The CST provides research guidance and
input on all aspects of sourcing, including sourcing strategy,
RFI/RFP management and creation, deal structuring, service level
agreements, risk mitigation, and transition and change management.
The CST also ensures ongoing vendor compliance and monitoring,
socializes clear responsibilities and accountabilities, and develops
a rigorous compliance and risk management process for all sourcing
activities.



Responsibilities:


This role will be instrumental in driving the implementation of new
CST risk management standards and processes for outsourcing and a new
monitoring/oversight process for vendor reviews, particularly as
Schwab's outsourcing matures. The role will also include leading
CST's efforts on specific outsourcing engagements, not only new
outsourcing projects, but also maintenance and optimization of the
existing relationships. The role will vary according to the needs of
each engagement, but typically includes development of strategic
options, key recommendations, and writing and delivering
presentations. Day to day, the role will include drafting RFIs/RFPs,
managing RFI/RFP processes, including interacting with the potential
vendors, interfacing with Schwab risk groups to ensure clear
communication and signoffs, managing transitions, and documenting
best practices. It will also include ongoing vendor management and
some contract negotiation.



Qualifications:


Required minimum of BA/BS degree, preferable MBA or similar
qualification, with proven academic excellence and
quantitative skills
Preferable minimum 8-10 years prior experience in traditional
project management (either technical or operations) or
equivalent project management qualifications
Preferable minimum 2 years year prior outsourcing experience
Preferable prior negotiation experience
Metrics and/or reporting experience a plus
