Director, Product Design

Dow Jones Financial Information Services is a high-growth division of Dow Jones' Enterprise Media Group serving venture capital, private equity, debt, and energy markets, with dozens of products delivered via print, web, email, and electronic feeds. This high-visibility, hands-on position will be responsible for product design across the entire division, leading the design of new products and redesign of existing products, collaborating with product teams and senior executives to deliver world-class products.

o Role
• Lead efforts to significantly improve clarity, interface, and user experience of very-successful online products
• Lead design of new, multi-channel (web, email) information services
• Lead redesign of other existing print, pdf, and HTML products
• Work directly with product groups, market research, and senior executives to define product strategy
• Work directly with technologists to develop formal design standards and to accelerate implementation
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously from beginning to end
REQUIREMENTS
• Five years media-product design experience
• Demonstrated excellence in online design
• Strong understanding of user-interface and usability factors
• Experience with financial data and data visualization a plus
• Solid technical understanding of Web 2.0 interface capabilities a plus
• Strong communication, analytical, and collaboration skills a must
