Director, New Business Services-SHS

We are in search of a professional and seasoned New Business Services Director to lead teams of people and other support staff to manage internal functions sales and account management. The individual will serve as an adjunct to Senior Director, New Business Services, in the development, implementation, execution, and ongoing enhancement of business development strategies. This position supports the growth and expansion of revenue for both new and new business to existing accounts. This role will lead and further build out a team to develop a world class operation to include implementing a content management platform, tools to automate and manage the creation of proposals, RFPs, RFIs, customer presentations, leading the contracting team and the operations administration team.
Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will:
Manage, and lead a high performance new business services organization to support the sales and account management team in delivering high quality customer proposals, RFPs/RFIs, and presentations
Developing and managing the internal management processes and internal market support initiatives for sales and account management
Lead the implementation and management of Pragmatech RFP and Presentation Software and Tools to create a common content management platform and to automate and control the creation of proposals and presentations
Oversee the day-to-day work of the content staff and ensure workload and quality objectives are met and projects completed on time
Ensure the implementation of a sales and marketing centric proposal approach that dynamically presents capabilities in a cohesive, clear and compelling manner
Develop, implement and continually assess processes for RFP/proposal and presentation quality control
Act as a resource in the sales process as needed, including RFP's, site visit consultation, product positioning, pricing, and strategy.
Lead the contracting team by overseeing day-to-day work of the team and ensuring workload and quality objective are met and projects completed on time
Develop strong relationship with the legal team that supports the contracting process
Support compliance with contract management protocols and document retention policies
Develop and maintain successful relationships with internal and external customers and strategic partners
Oversee and be accountable for the department quality review processes
Engage and manage third party vendor relationships or resources as needed to effectively deliver on responsibilities and objectives
Develop and leverage effective working relationships with other new business areas throughout UnitedHealth Group and represent SCS/SHS as needed in any enterprise meetings/forums related to new business services, RFPs, proposals and presentations
Develop / maintain an expert understanding of SHS/SCS Sales and Account Management processes
Provide the Sr. Director with frequent, regular milestone and status updated
Job Requirements:
Demonstrated experience building and leading a high performance proposal services, new business, or marketing communications team
Deep understanding of best practice methods and processes for delivering compelling customer proposals and presentations
Experience implementing or managing a Pragmatech solution for RFPs, Proposals, and Presentations
Able to effectively diagnose performance deficiencies and able to implement solutions that have measurable and positive business impact
Expert knowledge of customer proposal, RFP/RFI, and presentation processes, including experience developing proposals in a managed care, insurance or consultant/broker environment
Highly capable in managing and developing employees and working effectively in a matrix environment
Excellent organizational and personal influencing skills with demonstrated ability to create, build, and maintain relationships

Bachelors degree, Masters Preferred
Minimum 7 years proposal services, RFP/RFI experience, including 2 years building and leading a team of 5 or more staff in a deadline driven production environment
Minimum 10 years business experience, process or project management experience, healthcare or insurance industry preferred with background in sales operations, support or administration
