JOB SUMMARY:The Director of Existing Customer Marketing is responsible for three distinct business functions.
Manage and grow DISH Network’s subscription revenue by increasing average spend per subscriber.
Create and execute print and on-air marketing communications to our 12M existing customers. Re-build DISH Network’s orientation and on-boarding process to reduce calls and subscriber churn.
Build a sophisticated e-mail communications platform, develop an electronic communications strategy to reduce calls and churn and execute & 300M emails to our 12M existing customers.
Job Responsibilities:
The candidate that assumes this position will be directly responsible for:
Developing, executing and managing strategies and initiatives to grow average revenue per subscriber.
Developing from concept stage through execution customer communication initiatives that support retention, referral, revenue and branding goals within our existing base of customers.
Managing a multi-million dollar budget.
Meeting aggressive ARPU (avg. revenue per unit), call in rate and buyer’s remorse targets.
Driving initiatives through approval by interacting with senior leadership, including SVPs, and EVPs as well as the CFO, CIO, CTO and Chairman.
Developing and maintaining programmer relationships. Leveraging partnerships with content providers to design and execute co-branded multi-tactical marketing campaigns.
This position requires working closely with video content providers such as Disney, ESPN, HBO and other programmers to drive team and company objectives for acquisition, product penetration and ARPU.
Managing all aspects of the operational execution of direct mail, statement messaging, bill insert marketing, outbound telemarketing (upsell/cross sell), the production of commercials for distribution on DISH Network’s TV platform, educational and learning videos on dedicated barker channels, interactive online education/learning tools, email programs, etc.
Developing & executing processes, procedures and QA to ensure print, web, on-air, statement, on-hold and other existing customer messaging is delivered error-free and on-time.
Supporting the execution of communications to customers on behalf of other business units, including fulfillment of customer requested collateral materials, notifications related to but not limited to changes in account status such as credit card expiration notices and legal notifications or other communication as required by law.
Working with IT and external vendors to develop and deliver bill statement re-design projects and email data infrastructure and integration projects.
Using CRM tools to identify new revenue and call-in rate reduction opportunities, including leveraging existing desktop technology to improve frontline agent capabilities to upsell, cross sell, collect email and save revenue.
Preparing executive-level analysis, reports, and project status overviews & presenting to senior decision-makers within the company.
Identifying appropriate partners/vendors, negotiating contracts, and driving campaigns through to execution.
Forecasting & reporting on take rates and upgrade rates related to revenue and customer communication efforts & distributing to key stakeholders across the business.
Preparing ROI and break even analyses for all proposed programs and initiatives
This position reports directly to the Vice President of Marketing

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS ARE:
Proven experience and success in leading a strategic business unit, with responsibility to a large budget.
Experience in developing marketing collateral, producing on-air commercials, delivering large-scale direct mail campaigns under tight deadlines, executing email campaigns, or similar experience across other marketing communication vehicles.
Track record developing and executing innovative marketing and customer communication programs.
Experience executing campaigns through call centers, a large retail channel or telemarketing a plus.
Attention to detail and proven track record of delivering error free communications.
Track record in creating process-oriented infrastructure.
Leadership skills to manage and strengthen an organization. Prior managerial experience required. Willingness to mentor and develop young talent.
Proven strategic thinking, planning and analytical capabilities.
Consumer Insight: Ability to become "voice of the consumer" to influence strategy program development
10 years marketing and/or equivalent experience, preferably in the cable, telecommunications or Internet industries or with a subscription product or service; degree in business (MBA preferred) or equivalent experience.
5+ years of progressive responsibility performing both strategic and execution-related marketing or operation roles.
Strong analytical skills; excellent project management skills; ability to multi-task; proven success in leading cross-functional teams.
Superb organizational and communication skills; ability to be flexible in a changing work environment; ability to work well under pressure; ability to execute aggressive deadlines under changing market dynamics..
Self-starter, independently initiating and driving projects toward completion.
