Job SummaryDevelops and directs strategies to acquire new sponsors and donors through direct marketing channels, including direct mail (internal and external), media, print, and special campaigns both inside our existing sponsor base and externally. Develops strategies to maximize income from existing donors and external prospects through direct marketing communications. Has a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, maintains a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with people within and outside of Compassion, and faithfully upholds Compassion??s ministry in prayer.Acts as an advocate for children - raising the awareness of the needs, neglect, nurture, and potential of children in poverty and challenging and enabling those within one's influence to greater involvement and effectiveness on behalf of children.Develops direct mail strategies and communications to maximize the giving potential of our current sponsors and donors--through special appeals, offers to sponsor additional children, offers to support additional Compassion programs or other strategies to increase the level of support from our sponsor/donor base.
Develops direct marketing strategies and communications that motivate existing sponsors to become active participants in promoting Compassion. Develops and creates special campaigns, activities and tools that equip sponsors to help us find new sponsors and donors at low cost.
Directs the development of strategies for the acquisition of new sponsors and donors through media advertising (television, publications, external direct mail, internet, etc.)
Offers professional counsel and review to all departments concerning the development of their direct-response print materials. Directs the Print Production Manager in the development of materials, and utilizes Compassion's advertising agency whenever appropriate.
Establish benchmarks and trends for Direct Marketing efforts. Set up tracking/ conversion mechanisms to monitor the success of activities.
Develops and monitors the Direct Marketing department budget. Directs departmental staff and encourages their growth and development.
Participates in divisional planning and contributes towards the success of the Development Division's goals.
To serve as principle liaison with the corresponding functional counterpart in each of the Partner Country offices. This responsibility requires proactive, timely, and regular communication as well as a service-oriented attitude. REQUIREMENTS
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required
Seven to ten years experience in direct-response marketing, including strong skills and a proven track record in direct mail, media advertising, internal marketing, and print advertising of all kinds.Good strategic planning skills, including the ability to conceive and create both conventional and non-conventional strategies.A knowledge of today's direct marketing techniques and strategies.Excellent written communication skills.
