Development Representative - Huntsville, AL

Job Summary
Identifies, recruits, cultivates and trains volunteers to implement the annual development plan in their designated territory. Focuses on selling and implementing the priority development programs, including Relay for Life, Major Gift and Tribute Gifts. Works with Health Initiative partners in order to cross-sell programs and services.Responsibilities:
1.Identify, recruit, train, mobilize and cultivate volunteers in assigned territory to coordinate and implement priority development programs that will meet and exceed goals.
2.Follow defined sales methodology (develop prospects, make the ask, close the sale, cross-sell, etc.) to achieve performance objectives and job responsibilities through the utilization of volunteers.
3.Ensure successful implementation of priority events - Relay for Life, Gala, Corporate Development, Golf, Major Gifts, Tribute Gifts – by the cultivation of volunteers through on-going calling efforts.4.Actively identify, solicit and cultivate potential donors utilizing the ACS Donor Cultivation Program.
5.Ensure the implementation of Division donor retention/acknowledgement guidelines.
6.In conjunction with Health Initiatives staff, responsible for working with assigned communications staff person to deliver information to identified media outlets.
7.In conjunction with Health Initiative staff partner, cross-sell priority programming.
8.Adhere to ACS reporting guidelines for all program records, data and information requests.
9.Manage financial resources within the established budget to ensure good stewardship.
10.Act in the best interest of the ACS to enhance the ACS public image.
11.Input and manage constituent data by utilizing an in-house Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) eTool, Siebel.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of work experience and education. One year of relevant work experience preferred. Sales experience required; selling an intangible product desired. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to achieve results through others. Strong time management, project management, event management, and meeting management skills. Ability to cultivate and maintain long-term donor/customer relationships. Ability to assess income development potential in the assigned territory. Highly self-motivated, ability to work independently and to exhibit professionalism which demonstrates the ACS Mid-South Division values. Proficient knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office software, internet based applications, and computer equipment. Frequent daily travel in assigned local area counties and some overnight travel required.
