Credit and Collections Manager
Credit and Collections ManagerDescription:The Credit and Collections Manager manages all activities related to credit and collection functions for OV and subsidiaries, as well as deduction process for OV.Duties and Responsibilities:*Establish policies and procedures to make systems more efficient, as well as training and development of staff, including quarterly performance reviews.
*Establish and maintain relevant performance measurements, utilizing relevant report in ERP and Crystal, as tools for analysis.*Establish and modify OV deduction procedures as required, that all cooperative wide cash is posted daily and accurate and effectively manage EFT function*Establish strategies and procedures to monitor credits and collection in a growing environment, oversee the collections process and help coordinate payment arrangements.*Run credit reports and establish credit limits for new customers based upon the credit risk involved and verify current customer credit limits and recommend new limits as needed, in accordance with Cooperative wide Credit Policy.
*Report and write off any bad debt problems and prepare paperwork for accounts deemed necessary to turn over to collection agencies and /or for our attorney to file claims.*Establish strategies and procedures to monitor deductions or short pays, in a growing environment and ensure that they are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner.*Follow up on denials and communicate with RSM on status of their customer in relation to deductions, denials and their aging.*Reconcile deductions and credits to G/L account each month.*Special projects as required.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications and Skills:*7 years of relevant experience with 3-4 years of experience in a supervisory role.*A minimum of a 2 year accounting, finance or similar degree preferred.*Skillful understanding of accounting databases and business software.*Good working knowledge of Excel, Word and other similar computer packages.*Knowledge of computerized accounting and billing packages.*Good communications skills.*Ability to analyze detailed account information.*To work independently.*Knowledge of the dairy industry a plus.*Knowledge of credit and collection laws.*Knowledge of Retail grocery credits and promotions a plus.*Personnel skills.*Willingness to accept additional work responsibilities.Reports to:Cooperative Controller
