The Contract Manager is responsible for maintaining and expanding a large portfolio of active contracts and suppliers. This individual will be responsible for the Support Services portfolio, which includes a number of suppliers in the Professional Service, MRO and Housekeeping arenas. The successful candidate will be required to lead routine business line reviews with suppliers in order to ensure that the contract is meeting performance expectations, update forecasts for administrative fee payments under the Safe Harbor act, create strategies to grow the portfolio and periodically create contract amendments.



Major Accountabilities



Process Execution

Works with counterparts at key suppliers and other partner organizations to maximize the benefits realized from the ongoing relationship with various suppliers.

Develops opportunities to expand the ROI of the Contract Management team by finding and implementing contracting opportunities.

Reviews and provides feedback during the sourcing process on historic supplier performance.

Reviews supplier sales data and performance analytics to determine if the contract is being adopted by the Premier community.

Performs data mining activities to ensure contract pricing is in line with or is lower than pricing for goods and services in the overall market.

Integrates new suppliers regarding routing reporting expectations.

Periodically negotiates amendments to contracts to ensure/maintain best in class pricing.

Reviews proposed Amendment requests from suppliers and provides recommendations regarding acceptance/rejection based upon macro-economic and financial analysis.

Manages revenue forecasting, reconciliation and rebates for Senior Management.



Strategic/Administrative

Resolves supplier related issues regarding contracting activities.

Sets annual supplier goals according to expectations set forth by leadership. Tracks goals and develops strategic action plans to ensure all deliverables are met/exceeded.

Remains point of contact for the Supplier to Premier and vice versa during the life of the executed contract.

Develops supplier performance metrics and owns supplier relationship management.

Aligns supply chain expectations with the Member community.



Project Management

Improves internal business processes in order to reduce cycle time and increase efficiencies (which may involve the use of statistical analysis).

Maintains the master contract calendar and revenue forecasts for Supply Base.

Performs risk analysis and monitors those areas in multiple contracting categories. Provides recommendations and strategies for change where appropriate.

Works routinely with the Premier Field Force to ensure maximum contract utilization, and discusses areas for improvement.



Quality Control

Provides department with Contract Management expertise.

Ensures that member facing tools, such as Supply Chain Advisor, are completely accurate and exceed member expectations.

Develops quality control measures/key performance indicators, then implements and monitors those key performance indicators across a major healthcare portfolio. Utilizes the Supplier Quality Program, which includes Business Line Reviews and Supplier Scorecards to manage by objective. Provides scorecard feedback to Sourcing and Quality leads.

Develops process and technological improvement ideas. Leads the implementation of these improvement initiatives.





Required Skills




A Master’s Degree (MBA, MHA, Finance) or equivalent in business, finance, communications.

Five to seven years experience with finance, general business, services, property management



Knowledge and Skills

Extensive MS-office skills (excel, word, powerpoint). Statistics and database skills are a plus.
