Communication Specialist I

Business Unit: GE Infrastructure, AviationFunction: CommunicationsResponsibilities: * Provide writing, planning and program management assistance in support of GE global employee communication programs.
Assist Manager, Community & Political Relations and other communication team members in developing, implementing and measuring effective business-wide and Cincinnati-specific communication programs.
Work with employees and managers at all levels and from all sites to achieve communication goals.
Serve as writer and/or editor for communications i.e. publications, press releases, speeches, announcements, articles, etc.
For use with both internal and external audiences in support of an overall business strategy.
Develop, direct and monitor comprehensive communication programs in support of business goals and initiatives as required on specific projects and strategies.
May act as the Company spokesperson to media providing timely responses to requests for information.
Coordinate communication elements of and business wide projects/programs.
Serve as a clearinghouse for materials intended for public dissemination.
Represent the Company on various internally and externally focused committees/teams and serve as a liaison regarding contributions and local issues including political interfaces.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.Desired: * Bachelors degree in journalism or communications preferred.
Additional experience in electronic publishing, journalism, or media relations is preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Established planning, organizational, and execution ability.
Proven facilitation ability.
