Client Officer I

Hours/Schedule: 8:00 AM -- 5:00 PM Description: Makes appropriate recommendations that will best meet the needs of the client, stays current and is able to articulate current industry standards related to the fiduciary role specifically in the area of taxation. Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge of corporate policies and procedures related to the fiduciary role. Develops and maintains a high level of knowledge of trust, planning and basic investment disciplines, and begins to develop a broader knowledge of investment, credit, and insurance disciplines. Provides/ maintains appropriate levels of controls to minimize possible losses.Actively assists the PCA's in the sales process by providing appropriate recommendations, preparations and participation in meetings and demonstrates the ability to manage the day-to-day responsibility of implementing client strategies. Supports the sales process though active participation including being an enthusiastic member of the team, adding value to the sales process, and through identifying opportunity for cross-selling and balances the need to meet the goals of new business with the mission of providing the best client service in an effort to retain our client base.
Cultivates and maintains relationships with assigned base of clients, serving as primary point of contact for all services used by assigned clients and provides superior communications and service to clients, ensuring a continual interaction that promotes mutual trust and client retention.Proactively manages the relationships with Delaware including Tax, AAC , NMFS, and other operational units. Includes gaining the knowledge of procedures and understanding resources available for problem solving. Demonstrates the ability to appropriately assess issues that need immediate attention or can be resolved through the normal course of business and participates in and delegates Department and Corporate Projects as needed. Recommends changes to Department or Trust Operations policies and procedures to maximize efficiencies and risk management. Also Recommends changes to Department training and, where appropriate, directs or designs such training.Provides effective day-to-day management of the team ensuring appropriate levels of coaching, mentoring of staff to support the relationship management model. Serves as a coach and mentor to junior members of the team. May act in a supervisory capacity of a small number of junior staff members.
Job Requirements
Job Requirements: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent training and/or work experience. Three years of technical trust, planning experience, some basic investment knowledge or equivalent experience.This position requires that the incumbent be highly skilled in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) and able to rapidly learn new software applications.Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to build a significant level of trust with clients; empathy, and real interest in working with people. Self-confidence and a proven ability to work well with highly capable and successful individuals. Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
